About the Musical
This is a play inspired by the Disney movie,The Lion King. In the movie it was animated but in the Broadway show it is represented as the realm of the real world. This performance is also a very popular act that it is one of the top ten longest running Broadway shows ever. In PlayBall, a trusted theater source, it stated that this show is at number eight of the top ten most running shows on Broadway.
The book for the Lion King musical was finished October 15, 1997. The musical debuted on July 8, 1997 in Minnesota. The creators of this masterpiece to name a few are Elton John, Tim Rice, Julie Taymor, Garth Fagan, and others..
This story also gets its inspiration from Hamlet, a Shakespeare story of a king who's killed by his brother and takes his throne. The son knows the truth and seeks vengeance. This follows the ideas and format of Hamlet but in a light and vibrant way with talking animals and fantastic soundtrack.
About the Trip
IEC organized an event for 40 students that are interested in going to the Lion King Broadway Musical. The day that it will begin is December 7, so hurry up the date is approaching.
